Toronto 25

Toronto and its 25 Members of Parliament. Twenty-five seats and an election victory – there’s no place quite like the city of Toronto and no political organization quite like the Liberal Party of Canada. What’s the secret to achieving the most success of any federal political party in the Western world? Look at the numbers. They have an immigration vote harvesting machine, and they know how to use it quite effectively.

Toronto has a serious traffic problem. It’s growing in leaps and bounds. But at least it’s easy to assess blame for the urban nightmare. Prime minister Justin Trudeau deserves full  blame as he continues to pack the city with droves of newcomers and suffocating car traffic as a result.  A decade ago then-mayor Rob Ford insisted Toronto can’t handle the numbers of people inundating the city.

Few would argue the point. Although often derided for being drunk and stoned, the late mayor usually made more sense than the ruling establishment that survives him. If only Toronto had another Rob Ford.
