A Holiday to Honour our Heroes
Toronto police officer Marc Pinizzotto was shot dead because of the presence of foreign political operatives in Canada.
He was killed while investigating multiple drive-by shootings, one at the US consulate.
Pinizzotto is not the first government representative to be slain by foreign influence infiltrating Canada.
The first was Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent. In 2014 he died after an assassin ran him down in a parking lot near Montreal.
The second tragic victim of foreign interference is Corporal Nathan Cirillo. While standing guard on ceremonial sentry duty at the Canadian National War Memorial in Ottawa, he was killed by an assailant who then went on a shooting rampage in Parliament’s Centre Building.
Violence imported from abroad is playing out on the streets of Canadian cities. With Vincent and Cirillo and then Pinizzotto becoming the third political murder victim, questions must be asked. What can the Canadian public do for these men killed while wearing the uniform? Is it time to show our national resolve and designate an official holiday in their honour?
